What SerialStitch is. SerialStitch provides free decoding tools and educational guides for vintage sewing machines, plus a paid digital kit (the Seller & Restore Kit, $39, one-time payment). The decoders read published historical records — Singer's serial registers and dating tables, Sears' model lists, and Elna USA's production chart — from a snapshot held by this site.
Accuracy. We transcribe the published records carefully, cross-check where a second source exists, and disclose known conflicts and ambiguities in the results. Historical records themselves contain errors and gaps; a decoder result is the record's answer, presented with its source, and is not a certification, authentication, or appraisal of any individual machine.
The paid kit. The Seller & Restore Kit is a digital information product delivered as a web page after a one-time payment processed by Stripe. It is educational material about pricing, preparation, and selling vintage sewing machines. It does not include physical goods, repair services, or individual appraisals.
Safety. Vintage sewing machines are electrical appliances with aged insulation and wiring. Guidance on this site is general information, not a substitute for a qualified repair technician. If wiring is damaged or you are unsure, do not energize the machine.
Brands. Singer, Kenmore, Sears, Elna, Janome, White and other names are trademarks of their owners, used here only to identify the machines the historical records describe. SerialStitch is a CLEARDEAL LLC project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
